The Ooparts are strange things that do not belong in their period; they have been observed in many parts of the globe and at various earas, including pre-Columbian America, as shown by the Quimbaya artifacts. The strange Quimbaya cultural collection, which exhibits to us what is alleged “birds, butterflies, and flying fish” amid magnificent necklaces and gold jewelry, is without a doubt the most stunning for its visitors.

However, its unusual form has sparked considerable debate among residents and visitors, and aerodynamics experts have speculated that such objects might be airplanes rather than animal depictions. True opportunists!

The Quimbaya civilization

Before discussing its items, we must first learn about the Quimbaya civilization, which is well-known for producing very exquisite gold pieces.

They were well organized in the Quimbaya federation, which was situated near Chinchina, about the year 1530.

This federation was one of the most adamant opponents of the Spanish, and although being diminished, the culture persisted until it vanished as a group.

The final census of this civilization was conducted in 1628, and it revealed that just 69 people out of a population of at least 20,000 survived. The Quimbaya occupied the present areas of Caldas, Risaralda, and Quindo, which have many archaeological discoveries, particularly in goldsmithing.

The term “Quimbaya” alludes to one of the Middle Cauca’s indigenous chiefdoms, a vast area that was formerly known as “Quimbaya province.” The old Caldas’ pre-Columbian styles, found north of the Valley and south of Antioquia, are now known as such.

Advanced methods in metallurgy

The Quimbaya was known across the globe for their exquisite goldsmithing art, which was one of their most passionate characteristics. Their flawless skill and the exquisite beauty of their pieces revealed a sophisticated metallurgical process that was unique in the region, surprising archaeologists who examined them.

His art included mixing copper and gold, a technique known as “tumbaga,” which, contrary to popular belief, did not detract from the beauty, luster, or longevity of his creations.

His work is regarded as one of the most significant in the United States, but the collection that has sparked so much debate in the scientific world stands out well beyond the others.

The enigmatic artifacts

They are odd figurines from the Quimbaya civilization that date back to at least 1000 AD. They are also known as ” pre-Columbian aircraft ” and ” Pajaros de Otn “.

Because the scientific community can’t agree on what these things are, they’ve been labeled ooparts. While archaeologists believe they are animal figurines, aerodynamic specialists believe they are miniature models of aircraft and planes.

At first sight, this seems to be impossible, given the lack of aircraft at the period. They look like aircraft because of the way they’re made: spindle-shaped devices with two wings on the sides and a smaller one on the rear.

It is for this reason that specialists have begun to point out minute features such as the pilot’s cockpit, the elevator and steering rudders, fuselage support planes with perfect aerodynamic symmetry, and wings built especially to avoid vibrations.

The clear proof

In 1994, two German aerodynamic specialists, Peter Belting and Conrad Lubbers constructed reduced-scale models of many of these items, demonstrating that they could fly.

According to A. Poyslee, a fellow at the New York Aeronautical Institute, these things cannot be depictions of animals. The exact existence of features such as rudders or wings stands out among its justifications.

Another thing to notice is that there are no religious or funerary references in the region where they were discovered, much less anything connected to animals. It should also be noted that the use of gold and copper in this civilization was associated with the gods, thus their depiction of animals makes little sense.

Pre-Columbian aircraft were discovered and displayed.

The earliest items were discovered near the Otn River, which gave the area the name “Pajaros de Otn.” They are now on display as ” zoomorphic figurines ” at Bogota’s Gold Museum, which is hardly unexpected given that traditional archeology would never admit that they are ancient aircraft.

Currently, just 24 figurines are known, although many more identical ooparts are said to have been discovered and are still concealed.

Could this culture’s ancestors have seen their gods flying in planes? It was customary for ancient people of many cultures to reproduce what had grabbed their interest, and testing revealed that these items could fly…
