Erik ten Hag has hailed “great talent” Alejandro Garnacho and claims the youngster’s next challenge is to secure a regular starting place for Manchester United.
Fan favorite Garnacho made a welcome return after a two-month absence through injury in Saturday’s game against Wolverhampton Wanderers, coming on from the bench for the final 10 minutes of the game at Old Trafford.

And the Argentinian direct made an almost immediate impact by scoring our second goal of the match, in stoppage time, with a chilling finish that went wide both posts.
This is the 18-year-old’s 30th appearance in a groundbreaking campaign and Ten Hag is delighted to have him back in the crucial final as the Red Devils chase a top-four finish and glory at the Emirates FA. Cup.

“Garna, everyone can see that,” the boss told reporters during his post-match press conference. “He comes in and does almost everything well, and scoring a great goal gives him confidence. It’s good for us for the rest of the season, that he’s back and can have an impact.
“One of the aspects of greatest talent is that they mature,” he continued. “First, they are in charge, then second, they have matured to bring the skills and have the belief that they can overwhelm the opponent.

“Once again, he made it. He’s had a big impact in many games: whether he’s starting or coming on, he’s involved in the game and that’s very important to the team.
“I’m very happy that we can bring in young players and hopefully he’ll progress quickly to be able to compete for a starting spot because that’s his next challenge.”

When pressed by reporters on what Garnacho needs to do to take the next step, Ten Hag added: “Decision making, awareness, considering situations, when to go head-to-head, falls behind. left behind, when to score or make an extra pass.
“Decisions like that are what makes a good player a top player – that’s the difference. But when you look at it as a whole, he’s a great talent and very brave.

“It shows that the path is open for young players at United. And if you work the right way, and work hard, we can guide you to get on the team. But in the end, it’s about the player – he has to invest and have a plan to do that.”
