Ten Hag confirms Man Utd is looking for a striker to replace Ronaldo

Saturday, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag confirmed that the club is searching for a new striker following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo last month.

The Red Devils have been rumored to be interested in a variety of forwards, but it remɑins to be seen how much money Ten Hag will have to spend by the middle of the season. Typically, January is a difficult month for business, but this year, following the World Cup, that could change.

Cody Gakpo of PSV Eindhoven is believed to be a top target, while rumors are beginning to circulate about Benfica breakout star Goncalo Ramos.

United will only sign a new striker if the ideal candidate is available, according to Ten.

Speaking to reporters about the possibility of signing Ronaldo’s replacement in January, Ten Hag stated (via Manchester Evening News), “Yes, but only if we find the right player.”

“We do everything possible. We investigate every opportunity and do everything possible to contract them if the opportunity presents itself.”

United considered a summer trade for Gakpo, but Ten Hag opted to sign Antony from Ajax instead. Next season, they could have both players on their roster, which should make fans salivate.
