A distraught puppy shed tears as he thought his minutes were numbered. But his heroes arrived in time to save him from ending up in a bowl of soup because of the meat market.
In the past, about 10,000 dogs used to be put down in Asia, although in recent years the number has dropped to 1,000. Still, in the Western world, where the dog is considered man’s best friend, images of caged dogs waiting to end up on a plate of food are hard to assimilate.
The puppy cried for all it had suffered, but also for the happiness of knowing it was saved.
He was confined in a dirty cage together with 50 others of his kind. All with a common destiny: death and later commercialization of their meat for human consumption.
This happened after a lawsuit was filed by volunteers from Humane Society International, who moved to the slaughterhouse located in the city of Yongin, South Korea, to intervene.
The mission to get Robin extracted from this undesirable place was carried out in collaboration with other local pro-animalist groups. And it is that despite multiple restrictions, laws, and experiences, many traders insist on committing this cruel crime for profit.
Through an exciting video, it is possible to witness the rescue of the old puppy. He, who besides being behind bars, drank only a few drops of water or a pinch of food.
The little dog really had his heart broken by so much evil.
When they took him away, the rescuers were moved to see his eyes soaked with tears, resigned to his fate, or perhaps they were tears of joy at having been saved by these noble and big-hearted people.
“When we took it out, Robin was crying. I don’t know whether sadness or joy, but his eyes were moist”, said one of the members of Humane Society International.
Never again would I have to suffer despair over a sad fate or be hungry and desolate.
After the dismantling of the infernal and absolutely clandestine farm dedicated to the dog meat trade, the animals’ fate was uncertain. The most certain thing is that without the immediate action of the foundation in favor of animal rights, they would have been sacrificed.
They showed us the story via a post uploaded to their social networks, accompanied by numerous positive comments.
It already registers hundreds of thousands of reproductions.
“Robin’s tears moved us all.” Added the volunteer.
Like him, 50 other specimens were saved, all found in very poor condition. Unfortunately, others were not so lucky.
Fortunately, from now on, there will only be good news for these furry animals, who have been transferred to a veterinary hospital. There, they will start a treatment that will regenerate their physical and emotional integrity, waiting for a home that will treat them with love and respect. What they deserve.
“Ultimately, we will seek an ideal home for each one that will make them happy and integrate them into a good adopting family.” They add from the foundation.
