PSG silently back Mbappe to become ‘vice-captain’ after Messi latest behavior

Kylian Mbappe, a striker, has recently been named the new vice-captain of PSG by head coach Christophe Galtier. Presnel Kimpembe, the same position’s center-back, was taken aback by the choice.

Kimpembe recently made a statement on the social media platform Instagram, claiming that she was fully uninformed of Coach Christophe Galtier’s choice to name Mbappe the new vice-captain of PSG and that he may take over that position for a very long period.

Marquinhos, a midfielder for PSG, has served as the team’s captain since the start of the current campaign. Sergio Ramos, Kimpembe, and Verratti have alternated as vice captains. Mbappe, who is currently the top vice-captain, has taken over that position, nevertheless.

On the morning of January 24, Mbappe won the PSG captaincy by leading his team to a 7-0 victory over Pays De Cassel, who were in sixth place, in round 32 of the French Cup. Marquinhos, Kimpembe, and Verratti are all missing from this game, while Sergio Ramos played but still refuses to take accountability.

The French press reports that Mbappe’s role at PSG would be elevated by coach Christophe Galtier in order to prepare for this star’s next season as the new team captain.

Center-back Kimpembe, who still demonstrates respect and is willing to accept any arrangement at the club, is uneasy with coach Christophe Galtier’s most recent choice.

According to journalist Bruno Salomon of France Bleu Paris: “When captain Marquinhos is missing, coach Christophe Galtier will have to decide who will wear the PSG captain’s armband in order to best coordinate the existing four vice captains. Mbappe is viewed as having greater influence in a new role than Sergio Ramos, Kimpembe, and Verratti. Neymar and Messi were the players who carried the most weight in this endeavor, but they chose not to take part.”
