According to the transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, former Manchester United star Memphis Depay ‘will leave’ Barcelona in the ongoing transfer window amid links of him moving back to the Old Trafford side (h/t The Sun). There have been rumors that Memphis Depay will return to the Old Trafford side.
Inter Milan was mentioned as a possible destination on the transfer rumor mill for the Holland international player. However, the agent for the 28-year-old player has denied that any talks have taken place. The player’s camp has stated that a transfer to the Nerazzurri is “not a possibility” at this time in their discussion of the player’s future.
Arsenal, who are currently leading the Premier League table, are also interested in signing Depay, in addition to the Red Devils. Atletico Madrid is also in the running to secure the services of the player, who will be 28 years old in January.
The Netherlands national team player has struggled to earn playing time at Barcelona under Xavi’s direction. Despite this, the forward was able to display some of his talent while playing for the Netherlands in the 2022 World Cup.
The team captained by Mikel Arteta is currently doing very well in the league. However, there is a lot of room for improvement in terms of the depth of their team. Eddie Nketiah has been taking charge of the Gunners’ offense in his place while Gabriel Jesus has been sidelined.
On the other hand, Diego Simeone’s squad has had a rough go of things so far this season. They could rely on a great deal of their team’s talent up front. However, this month they were unable to retain Matheus Cunha and Joao Felix because the former signed with Wolves and the latter went on loan to Chelsea.

After Cristiano Ronaldo left the team, Manchester United made the decision to strengthen their forward line by acquiring Wout Weghorst. However, the 30-year-old is only a solution for the Red Devils in the short term because his contract with Burnley only lasts until the end of the current season.
This season, Marcus Rashford has been responsible for the majority of our goals. Since Erik ten Hag took over as head coach, Anthony Martial has struggled to maintain his fitness level.
At this point in time, Depay represents a market opportunity that should not be missed. However, it is still unknown whether United will give the 28-year-old the chance to make amends by offering him a transfer to the Theatre of Dreams in the event that he performs well in his new team.
