It’s just crɑzy! Manchester United set to spend £200m to own the World Cup duo

Manchester United is not gambling during the January transfer window.

Manchester United have used the World Cup break to evaluate their season thus far and what needs to be changed as the second half begins. Currently in fifth place and only three points behind the top four, they must make a few changes if they are to finish the season strongly.

Many have pointed to Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure as proof that United need to sign a replacement. To be honest, because he’s mostly been on the bench this season, Manchester United has learned to live without him.

According to The Sun, Erik ten Hag is planning a sensational £200 million swoop for both Jude Bellingham and Frenkie de Jong. Manchester United fans should be overjoyed if this is true. Bellingham played in this year’s World Cup, and at only 19 years old, he could be enough to turn around United’s season.

Frenkie de Jong also performed admirably for the Netherlands before their elimination. The Barcelona 25-year-old, who has an assist and a goal, is nearing the end of his career and looking for a new challenge.

It should be noted, however, that Sun reports should be treated with caution. While they are a large English publication with generally credible stories, they can be quite sensationalist at times.

Who wouldn’t want to sign Bellingham and De Jong? Both are outstanding players who could fit into the majority of European squads. But only time will tell if Manchester United is willing to spend big money.
