Manchester United must strive to capture Milan Skriniar after Inter Milan put €20M price tag

Before the transfer window closes, Manchester United ought to make every effort to get Milan Skriniar, a defender now playing for Inter Milan. Skriniar can be available for just €20 million.

During the transfer window that took place during the summer before last, the name of the Slovakian star was frequently mentioned in connection with Paris Saint-Germain. Although the French club was prepared to make a bid of €50 million, the Nerazzurri felt that it was insufficient.

Since then, Simone Inzaghi’s team has been unsuccessful in persuading Skriniar to put pen to paper on a new deal, and Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the club is now willing to accept a reduced transfer fee in order to make the transaction happen.

Before Tuesday’s deadline for transferring players, he could be purchased for for €20 million despite having just over five months left on his current contract. In our opinion, it is imperative that the Red Devils make the most of the current circumstances.

United has the possibility of signing a player of world-class calibre. SkriniarThe 27-year-old player was a target for Paris Saint-Germain during the previous summer, but the club is now willing to hold off on signing him until the end of the current campaign due to worries regarding Financial Fair Play.

This presents an opening for other clubs, and they should take advantage of it. United is one of the teams that has the potential to capitalise. They won’t have to empty their bank accounts in order to acquire a defender of elite calibre in January.

The apparent first choices for manager Erik ten Hag are Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez, but the Dutchman may desire a formidable alternative to play in some games in place of the former.

Luke Shaw has demonstrated in recent weeks that he is capable of filling in for Jose Martinez as the left-footed central defender when it is necessary; but, Manchester United do not have a similarly dependable backup for Varane.

Both Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire have not been as reliable as they should have been. Skriniar, in our opinion, would be an excellent acquisition in January and may be utilised interchangeably with Varane in a variety of situations.

This month, United has the opportunity to sign him for a significantly reduced sum. There is no interest at this time; but, Skriniar could be enticed to join the Red Devils if they make a late transfer offer.

In the meanwhile, United could sweeten the deal for Inter by allowing Maguire to move in the opposite direction on loan. This would be a win-win for both parties. In a league that places a greater emphasis on strategy, Maguire might be the ideal player.
