Youri Tielemans is a free agent this summer, but Manchester United would be wise to sign him before the January transfer deadline.
Since his arrival at Old Trafford in the summer, Christian Eriksen has established himself as an important member of Erik ten Hag’s squad.
The midfielder is frequently tasked with recovering the ball from defense and playing it forward to start attacks. If Frenkie de Jong had moved to Manchester United last summer, this would have been Eriksen’s role, but since that transfer did not take place, Eriksen has taken over.

Youri Tielemans could be Manchester United’s answer to their midfield w𝚘es.
Eriksen, on the other hand, suffered an injᴜry in United’s Carabao Cup match against Reading as a result of a bad challenge from Andy Carroll. The Danish midfielder was seen leaving the game on crutches, and it is unknown when he will be able to return.
For the time being, United will almost certainly replace Eriksen internally. Fred has been an effective deputy for the 30-year-old this season and will likely fill in while he is out, and the club also has Kobbie Mainoo and Zidane Iqbal waiting in the wings to provide extra cover.
Given Eriksen’s importance to United this season, replacing him with players who aren’t up to the job could spell disɑster. Should the club then look to replace him in the transfer market?
Youri Tielemans is a name that has frequently been linked to United. The Leicester midfielder has only six months left on his contract at the King Power Stadium and could be available for a bargain in January, though with the transfer window closing soon, Brendan Rodgers may be reluctant to let the midfielder leave given his importance to the club’s survival.

Tielemans has shown in the past that he can play in more advanced roles, but given his technical ability and passing range, he could be deployed deeper to help dictate possession and control the tempo of the game. The only question is whether the Belgian international would be as effective without the ball.
United should be seriously considering a January transfer to strengthen their challenge for the top four and silverware, but given the club’s financial situation, it appears unlikely. Tielemans should be near the top of their list if they make a move before the deadline.
Casemiro of Manchester United is compared to Roy Keane by Eamon Dunphy
EX-IRELAND INTERNATIONAL LIMITED Casemiro, a Manchester United midfielder, has been compared to former United and Ireland captain Roy Keane by EAMON DUNPHY.
The Brazilian joined the Red Devils in the summer for a fee of £60 million plus £10 million in add-ons from Real Madrid, and he has completely transformed the club’s fortunes.

The 30-year-old has emerged as a lynchpin in Erik ten Hag’s lineup this season, contributing goals, passes, and assists.
Casemiro scored two excellent goals in Reading’s 3-1 FA Cup victory last weekend.
Following a decade of mismanagement and poor acquisitions, many believe Casemiro is United’s best signing in years.
Since Keane’s departure in 2005, United have failed to replace him with the quality required to compete with the league’s top clubs.
In his Buzz.ie column, Dunphy expressed similar sentiments, claiming that the United star reminded him of Roy Keane and that he was United’s best singing in a decade.
Dunphy wrote in his column, ‘Not for the first time in a red shirt, he reminded me of Roy Keane.’
‘Taking the game to the opposition and doing the necessary.’
‘He was also one of United’s first true leaders after Ferguson.’
‘Not only is Casemiro’s game still biting, but it’s also calm and composed.
‘He is the primary reason United has improved so significantly this season.”
‘He’s United’s best signing in years, and he could kickstart their season.’

United’s focus now shifts to the second leg of the EFL Cup against Nottingham Forest.
Ten Hag’s team is 3-0 up in the second leg and is expected to advance to this year’s final in Wembley.
Unless something catastrophic happens on Wednesday, the winner of the other game between Newcastle and Southampton will face United.
