Man United prepare a major move to sign a £73,000-per-week player

Manchester United are once again being linked with Victor Osimhen as they look to fill their need for a young, all-around striker who can serve the club well in the long run.

During the most recent summer transfer window, there were rumors circulating that the Red Devils were ready to strike a lucrative deal in order to acquire his services.

In addition to this, it was reported in November 2022 by La Gazzetta Dello Sport that the Old Trafford club is interested in acquiring Osimhen in order to bolster their strike-force for the foreseeable future.

More recent reports suggest that Manchester United are getting ready to make a significant move in order to finally sign Osimhen from Napoli.

Il Mattino reports that Manchester United, Arsenal, and Newcastle United are already making preparations to participate in a major auction to bring the Nigerian international to England.

The Italian news source has reported that representatives from the clubs that are interested in signing him are currently working to make signing arrangements.

The forward, who is 24 years old, is currently under contract with the team based in Naples until the year 2025. His annual salary is approximately 4.3 million euros, which is equivalent to approximately 73,000 pounds sterling per week.

According to Il Mattino’s estimation, Osimhen is worth 150 million euros in today’s market conditions and taking into account his past performances. For the time being, he is going to concentrate on doing whatever he can to ensure that Napoli, who are currently leading Serie A, win the league.

The former center forward for Lille has started 15 games across all competitions so far this season, and he has directly contributed in 17 goals (13 goals and 4 assists).

The African superstar has scored ten goals in the last nine matches, putting him atop the goal-scoring charts for the Italian league with a total of 12 goals scored. This past weekend, he helped Napoli earn all three points against Juventus by scoring twice and assisting on a goal, which led to Napoli’s victory.

Is it possible that Victor Osimhen is the answer to the striker dilemma that has plagued Old Trafford for so long? Should Manchester United spend 150 million euros to secure his services?
