Jurgen Klopp has made Sofyan Amrabat his main transfer target along with Jude Bellingham – and the player himself is willing to join Liverpool.

That’s according to the latest report from French publication Foot Mercato, who have previously stated that Reds boss Klopp has already seen Amrabat’s agents and, given that the meeting went okay, additional talks will take place after the World Cup finished.

Amrabat was one of the stars of the show for surρrise package Morocco, whose commanding performances from midfield are thought to have caught the interest of some of Europe’s premier clubs, including, apparently, Liverpool.

5 Liverpool stars could ‘say goodbye’ to the club in January

Liverpool has been connected to a broad array of players, which suggests that the club’s January transfer window could be very active in terms of player acquisitions. However, a number of current first team names may potentially be leaving the team in the near future.

This season, a number of key players for the Reds have been sidelined by injury, with Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain being among those who have been sidelined for significant stretches of time.

These two players, along with a number of other Liverpool players, are currently unrestricted free agents. In the event that the Reds choose not to extend any of the players’ current contracts, the club has the option of selling off those players in the month of January.

The team managed by Jurgen Klopp has been strongly linked with moves for the midfield tandem of Jude Bellingham and Enzo Fernandez. In addition, other top stars including center back Josko Gvardiol, offensive midfielder Mason Mount, and forward Youssoufa Moukoko are apparently of interest to the club.

In the event that any of those players were to join the team, Jurgen Klopp might have to reevaluate the composition of his squad and consider trading away some of his present players, while others might depart in quest of greater playing time.

The month of January may see the departure of the following five players from Anfield.

Naby Keita

Due to an injury that he suffered in the first game of the season against Manchester City in the Community Shield, Naby Keita has been sidelined for the entirety of the 2018-19 campaign, making this year’s campaign one of the most challenging of his career.

The Guinea midfielder is undeniably talented when healthy, but his current contract at Liverpool is set to expire in the summer, and he has been said to be interested in leaving the club.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, another player whose contract is set to expire the next summer, has just recently returned from a significant injury that he sustained during the pre-season.

However, since the beginning of the 2020/21 season, he has only been allowed to make 32 appearances in the Premier League, and Liverpool may feel that it is time to move the 29-year-old forward at this point in time.

Caiomhin Kelleher, who has been outstanding for Liverpool in cup competitions and was the hero of Liverpool’s penalty shootout victory over Chelsea in the final of the competition the previous season, might be a wildcard pick. On the other hand, it does not appear realistic that he will be able to unseat Alisson and become the club’s number one goalkeeper in the near future.

At the age of 24, the international player for the Republic of Ireland could reach the conclusion that it is time to go elsewhere for a starting position on a regular basis. Although, it seems that he will remain on Merseyside for the time being; however, this could alter in the future.

Nathaniel Phillips

As a result of stepping up and assisting his team in qualifying for the Champions League despite the facт that it was an injury-plagued season, Nat Phillips will go down in the annals of Liverpool history.

As a result of injuries to the starting center back trio of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, and Joel Matip, he made 17 appearances in the league during that season.

Although it was never probable that the 25-year-old would keep his position after those players returned, he has proven to be a capable backup ever since. However, the defender, who spent part of the previous season on loan at Bournemouth of the Championship, could be interested in making the move permanent in the month of January.
