Wout Weghorst is closing in on a loan move to Manchester United and could make his debut in Saturday’s derby.
The 30-year-old is expected to sign a contract extension with the Premier League giants until the end of the season, according to talkSPORT.

Weghorst, a Dutch striker, is close to joining Manchester United on loan.
The Red Devils are paying Besiktas around £2.5 million to end his temporary stay in Turkey, and the Burnley striker is on his way to United.
Weghorst is scheduled to arrive in Manchester on Thursday for a medical as Erik ten Hag’s side hopes to have him available for the Man City match, which will be broadcast live on talkSPORT.
He must be registered by Friday at 12 p.m. in order to play against the Premier League champions 24 hours later.
United enters the game in excellent form, having won their last eight games in all competitions.
They are fourth in the table and know that a win against the Citizens will put them only one point behind Pep Guardiola’s meɴ.
United will also be encouraged by City’s Carabao Cup exit to Southampton on Wednesday, in which they failed to register a single shot on target for the first time since April 2018.

Ten Hag’s team is in excellent form ahead of their derby clɑsh with Guardiola’s meɴ.
Here’s how talkSPORT predicts Manchester United will line up for Saturday’s lunchtime kickoff.
David De Gea will return to goal after Tom Heaton was given a rare start in Tuesday’s 3-0 Carabao Cup quarter-final win over Charlton.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka could replace Diogo Dalot at right-back after the Portuguese defender was withdrawn in the first half against Charlton.
Ten Hag insisted that it was a ‘precaution,’ but with Dalot only recently returning from injᴜry, he may be rested this weekend.

Marcus Rashford will be hoping to maintain his excellent form against the Citizens.
Despite impressing at centre-half against Nottingham Forest and Wolves, Luke Shaw appears set to keep his place at left-back.
Ten Hag is torn about who to put in the heart of defense to deal with Erling Haaland’s physicality.
Haaland annihilated United earlier this season, scoring a hat-trick in a 6-3 victory at the Etihad.
Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez started that game, and despite Harry Maguire’s recent form, Ten Hag may opt to stick with his preferred pairing.

Martinez may be preferred over Maguire this weekend.
Casemiro and Christian Eriksen could form a midfield two, with Bruno Fernandes playing at No. 10.
Antony, who scored a wonder goal against the Addicks, will most likely play on the right wing.
And Marcus Rashford will almost certainly start on the opposite flank as he looks to extend his goal-scoring streak.
The England international has scored in six consecutive games and has scored in each of his last eight games at Old Trafford.
He is the first person in 11 years to accomplish that feat since Wayne Rooney in 2010.
If Weghorst is registered in time, he could be given the job of leading the line in his first appearance in England since being relegated with the Clarets.

This is how United might line up against Manchester City at Old Trafford.
