Erik ten Hag refuses to meet Paul Pogba

The French midfielder wɑnted to speak with coach Erik ten Hag about staying at MU in the summer of 2022, but he was unable to do so.

According to the British press, Pogba wants to meet with coach Erik ten Hag to discuss his future when the Dutch coach takes over at Manchester United in May 2022. When his contract with the “Red Devils” expires, the French star appears to be ready to stay.

However, Pogba did not attend the meeting as planned. Ten Hag understands that MU must plan for the future rather than relying on players who fall short of expectations, such as Pogba. Following that, the midfielder was not signed by MU and returned to Juventus as a free agent in 1993.

Ten Hag refused to meet with Pogba.

Pogba reveɑled that MU lacked goodwill in extending his contract after docking in Turin in the summer of 2022. “Man United cheated on me and did not make a convincing enough offer,” the 2018 World Cup winner added.

Injuries, erratic performance, and high salary demands for Pogba have led to MU’s decision to part ways with him. Pogba is currently out of action for Juventus due to an injᴜry. Pogba’s performance has suffered as a result of health issues over the last three seasons. He only played 27 matches in all competitions in the “Red Devils” shirt during the 2021/22 season due to a variety of injuries.

After bidding farewell to Pogba, coach Ten Hag embarked on a midfield revamp. He was able to sign Casemiro and Christian Eriksen. MU also tried but failed to sign Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong during the summer transfer window of 2022. However, the recent changes continue to assist MU in striking a balance. The Old Trafford club’s performance has also improved significantly. This season, they have a good chance of finishing in the top four in the Premier League, as well as winning the Carabao Cup, FA Cup, and Europa League.

MU defeated Nottingham Forest 3-0 in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final on January 26.
