Can Marcel Sabitzer make Man Utd debut against Nottingham Forest?

On transfer deadline day, Manchester United made a frantic effort to sign Bayern Munich star Marcel Sabitzer.

Christian Eriksen’s injᴜry, which could sideline him for up to four months, was a devastating 𝚋low to Erik ten Hag’s chances of winning a trophy this season.

Following his free transfer to Old Trafford last July, the former Tottenham star has been in sensational form for the Red Devils this season.

With Donny van de Beek out for the rest of the season and Scott McTominay out for the next two weeks, United were left with only Casemiro and Fred as recognized central midfielders in the first team squad.

However, United fans who had hoped to see their new midfielder against Nottingham Forest will have to wait a bit longer.

United registered Sabitzer too late for him to play against Forest on Tuesday, so he will have to wait until Saturday’s Premier League match against Crystal Palace to make his debut.

The Red Devils have a three-goal advantage heading into tonight’s semi-final second leg against Forest.

As a result of his desire to avoid unlikely upsets, Ten Hag is unlikely to rotate his squad too frequently.
