We cannot deny that in some parts of the world practices take place that, far from being merely traditional or cultural, reveal the immense pain to which animals are subjected.

This time, we tell you about the incredible work done by Humane Society International (HSI)  who managed to rescue dozens of puppies that lived for months locked in cages and in terrible conditions on a farm in Hongsong, South Korea.

This has therefore been possible thanks to HSI spokespersons who have long tried to convince and persuade the farm owner that the dog industry is not good business.

The puppies were in small cages and in deplorable conditions.

Fortunately, the man understood the seriousness of the matter and finally decided to deliver the chicks and receive help to get down to business without risking the lives of any living thing.

For more than 40 years, farmer Nakseon Kim has devoted himself to working on the dog farm, but now he has decided to change his life. In this regard, he commented:

“It may sound strange, but I started raising dogs because I like dogs. I was never a fan of dog meat. I had some dogs, so I started raising them and when I was 20 or 30 I started selling them because I thought it would be productive, but it didn’t really work out that way. I don’t make anything from this dog farm, and the pressure from the government is increasing and this is absolutely not good business.”

The rescue was planned for early March, but due to severe restrictions due to the pandemic caused by Covid-19, it could not be carried out. The border blockade and social isolation prevented the dogs from being mobilized.

Currently, the puppies are in foster homes.

The main goal is to transfer them to Canada or the United States, where the organization will ensure that they find foster homes that will give them all the love they deserve.

However, the puppies need to wait a while before reaching their final destination, as there are still many restrictions for international flights. For now, they are being transferred to temporary homes in South Korea.

The nightmare is over.

All of these furry friends were rescued from a tragic end, given veterinary care, and, for the first time in a long time, a comforting hug that made them understand then that everything will be okay.

The recovery process was different for each puppy; unfortunately, some had serious injuries and required full dedication. Fortunately, they are now in good hands and hope that they will soon be part of a loving family.

Continuing to fight for the release of the dogs on these farms is everyone’s commitment.

Fortunately, things are changing and it is hoped that slowly this practice will be completely eradicated.

Thanks to government sanctions and the hard work of activists and organizations, great strides are being made in this part of the world where puppies are severely mistreated by the meat trade industries and puppy mills.

Recently, it was learned that the Chinese cities of Shenzhen and Zhuhai have banned the consumption of dog meat and consider their pets.

The work of these activists makes the hearts of all dog lovers happy.

Farmer Nakseon Kim understood that the dog farm is not right or sustainable, he is currently engaged in growing cabbage and other vegetables with the help of charities. Nara Kim, an HSI activist, pointed out:

“Unfortunately, it is still very common to see live puppies for sale in pet shops. But what most Koreans would be surprised to learn is that these same puppies may have been killed for human consumption. Live or die, they are all born in these places, their mothers breed intensely to exhaustion, and finally, they are sold to slaughterhouses.

The torture for these puppies has come to an end, a great victory that reminds us that there is still much to do and lives to save. Through a publication, HSI shared the great news:

“There are no more cages. No more suffering. Over 60 dogs were rescued from a dog meat farm in South Korea, and it was only thanks to your support. THANK YOU! “

Let’s continue to support these organizations and never lose hope of seeing all these furry ones free and loved. Raise your voice and say no to animal abuse!
